では、早速、私の出身地、イギリス・バースについて紹介します。

バースは、イングランド西部で歴史的に最も有名な場所の一つです。このバースという名前の由来は、はるか昔ローマ人とイギリス人がこの土地で温泉を発見し、それを“ローマバス”と名付けた事からきています。

バースは美しい歴史がある土地なので、とても人気があります。ですから、滞在費、居住費は高いです。それにもかかわらず人々はバースに住む夢を捨てきれません。

そごで、私がお勧めしたいのが、チッペンナムチッペンナム（CHIPPENHAM）です。チッペンナムはバースから近く、滞在費、居住費は安くてまさしくうってつけ！
＊　良い物件はツアリストインフォメーションセンター（イギリスの町ではどこにでも必ず一つはある）で見つけることができます。又は、郵便局でもホームスティー、家を借りる情報を提供しています。
＊　“地名＋city council”(i.e. Bath city council) を検索するとホムページを出てきて、そして、そこに、ツアリストインフォメーションがあり、お得な情報がたくさんのっています。
＊　気になる食事についてですが、パブで伝統的な食べ物を安く食べれます。

最後にお勧めのレストランを紹介します。チッペンナムチッペンナムにあるMemory Of Beijing という中華料理店です。そこでは日本では考えられないほど安い値段で本格的な中華料理を楽しめます(48 NEW ROAD, CHIPPENHAM, WILTS; TEL: 01249 462977)

This World Heritage city is famed for its Roman remains and its Georgian architecture. The city of Bath has originated and developed around its hot spring water, therefore the name of place is called bath. It is a beautiful town with a long history background.

As Bath is a very popular town in UK, the accommodation is actually quite expensive. However, it is not a bad idea to live in other small towns which are near by Bath. Cheap accommodation could be found in the Tourist Information center which is located in every town centre and post office, alternatively, you can find some useful tourist information of each town by using search engine and search for ‘place name+city council”.

It is quite a good idea to try same local dishes with reasonable price by visiting some pubs. There is a very good restaurant called Memory of Beijing which is worth to have a try.
